What is the difference between the young double slit and single slit experiment?

In a single slit experiment, its difrraction,  light spreads out in a line perpendicular to the slit. No particular interesting phenomena are observed. 

But in a double slit experiment, its diffraction, light diffract when passing through the slits but the light from those then interferes to produce an interference pattern on the screen. The light is spread out in a line like in the single slit, but here there is interference producing regions of constructive and destructive interference and a very bright spot at the center of the screen called the central maxima.
